Always excellent. Food and service coupled with a genuinely cozy low country feel!!

Tonight was my last night in Savannah before heading back home and I couldn't be happier that I chose to enjoy a wonderful dinner at Desposito's. I started on the main course that I had ordered and quickly decided that I'd be ordering more. I ended up taste testing nearly half the items on their menu. The seafood was fresh and everything was bursting with all the right flavors. Besides the food being stellar, I especially enjoyed the low country atmosphere and the terrifically kind people that made dinner an experience that will remind me fondly of Savannah. This place is not fancy, nor should it be. That would ruin the effortless charm this place exudes. At some point in the night, the restaurant owner's mother came in and she was as kind as can be. She made sure that everyone was enjoying their meals. I've been lucky enough to have traveled quite a bit. I've lived in big cities. But I must say, Desposito's is quite a find as it excels in true Southern hospitality and fresh seafood! I would definitely recommend this place for a casual, yet special, dining experience.

Just a word of warning to check your bill at Desposito's. Our bill should have been $50.82 and they had our total as $69. The way the server acted made me suspicious that it is a common practice to overcharge hoping the customer's aren't paying attention. Also way overpriced. It was $22 for 2 clusters of snow crab legs and you don't get any sides with it. They could at least throw in some potatoes or corn for that price. The Low Country Boil for $19.50 was ok. The price is comparable to other places but they are stingy with the sausage. Definitely won't be back.

Solid dive bar, only pbr and Miller for beer, pretty expensive and this is a smoking allowed joint. Oddly placed it just felt like a dive for locals to avoid tourists like myself.

Best boiled shrimp in town. So tasty, you do not need shrimp sauce. But they do have good shrimp sauce for a change of pace. It's an intimate small place where the owners have kept it open because they like making great food and pouring cold beer. The menu is simple, but everything on the menu is prepared to perfection. They do not dye the key lime pie...its off white, like it should be. And it tastes great... kind of hard to find, if you don't use the boat ramp... it is definitely worth the hunt.
